Ashley Evans
Chief Executive, Electronics KTN

Started his career with British Aerospace, and then worked in a number of sectors including machine tools with Renold Gears, automotive with Arvin, publishing with HarperCollins and finally back into the electronics sector with GEC Marconi and Modus Media.
Prior to leading the Electronics KTN, Ashley was Chief Executive for Electronics Scotland, and was the inaugural Chair of the UK Electronics Alliance.
Ashley has also founded and advised on the start up of new companies in the supply chain sector.

Nigel Rix

With over 30 years of developing and launching products Nigel has worked for a variety high tech companies from multinationals to small startups and on a wide range of technologies from electron beam and laser systems to access control and cctv.
After gaining a first class degree in engineering at Cambridge University Nigel joined Cambridge Instruments responsible for software and systems development on their new reticule inspection and then shaped electron beam lithography products.
He was Technical Director at Laser-Scan Ltd responsible for laser based plotters and GIS applications. At Amtech Europe he became Commercial Director with responsibility for full product lifecycle (development, introduction to manufacturing and market launch).
Most recently he has worked in the retail sector on emerging technologies for data management, printing and electronic displays.
He has also been a board member AIM, Chairman of the RFID SIG at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and presented at many international conferences on emerging technologies.

Daniel Dearing

Daniel has nearly 25 years of experience in the development and marketing of emerging technology in the electronics industry. He has worked in high-tech research and development for a variety of companies, ranging from large defence companies (Plessey and GEC) through to small start-up companies developing disruptive technologies.
Daniel gained a BSc in electronics from Bath University and then went on to become deeply involved in the field of communications technology development, working on a variety of fixed and wireless communications systems in development, leadership and then consulting roles. More recently Daniel has been working in the field of healthcare - specifically in the convergence of electronics and wireless communications with healthcare and medical device technology.
Prior to joining the Electronics KTN, Daniel was Managing Director of Accelerate Consulting, a technology commercialisation company, specialising in bringing high tech products and services to market, and assessing technology for investors and grant awarding bodies (such as the DTI and EEDA). This role brought Daniel into contact on a regular basis with rich sources of innovation from Universities, SMEs and larger enterprises.
